Using woodblocks from the Texas A&M Historical Press as reference, I “revived” a typeface for digital use, called “Necromancy”. The typeface, comparable to “ITC Benguiat”, popularized in the ”Stranger Things” title, contains capitals and basic punctuation.
Using pictures taken in the Historical Press, I created the typeface in Fontra for web usage. I also designed and printed an 18×24” poster utilizing the revived type in display, with thematic nods to “Stranger Things”, in Illustrator.
