This zine explores the relationship between rap and theatre, inspired by the 2024 release of Warriors, a concept album co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The publication combines cultural research with an expressive visual system built around punchy color, jagged shapes, and theatrical imagery.
Interior spreads feature mini-biographies of influential rappers and musicals from the past 30 years, while the final spread uses a table and translucent vellum overlay to emphasize the cultural importance of both genres.
Spreads were designed in Illustrator and Photoshop and arranged in InDesign. Main spreads were produced using risograph printing, with vellum pages printed separately in ink printers. Five physical copies were made and displayed at the 2024 VIZ Fall Show.
